Style File: Lupita Nyong’o Promotes THE WILD ROBOT in New York

The great thing about Lupita Nyong’o – or one of them, anyway – is that she will hit the promo trail for an animated movie as hard as she’d hit it for a prestige drama or a huge franchise installment. The lady simply never slacks off. She’s been out on the streets of New York all week promoting The Wild Robot. Let’s assess.

This is cute, boldly photogenic and perfectly on point for this venue. We can’t say we’re completely in love with the design, however. The pants are great, but we don’t think we’d ever recommend pairing them with a matching top. The top itself has some weird hi-lo thing happening in the back, which is a dealbreaker for us. A black or white top with those pants would’ve been great, but probably not as photogenic.

Pure gorgeousness – and that’s coming from two bitches who hate fringe. Love the shimmer, love the color story. She looks pretty much perfect here. What a great little dress.
