We love when someone has a well-defined game plan if not an outright theme for their Oscar night fashion. Do we know why Anatomy of a Fall star Sandra Hüller went for a winged boob motif all night? No, but we appreciate both the consistency and the weirdness.

This was one of our favorite looks of the night, actually. This is the kind of look Carey Mulligan kept trying to pull together but never quite managed. The design of the dress is just stark and odd enough that it doesn’t need further styling. The lowkey makeup, severe hair and relatively minimal jewelry set it off nicely.

We still appreciate the weirdness, but we can’t pretend we love the design all that much. The rabbit ears look a little too unwieldy to be fabulous and we don’t love the embroidery. Still, it’s nice to see someone bring the goofy to a sea of samey-same normalcy.
