The Color Purple star and Best Supporting Actress nominee Danielle Brooks demonstrated the power of good styling in both of her Oscar night choices.
IN DOLCE & GABBANA AT THE OSCARS
We were a little underwhelmed by the dress, to be honest. The bodice looked too stiff and the slit runs a little too high on the skirt. But the longer we took it all in, the more we realized that the hair and makeup are perfect, the jewelry is really well chosen, and the shoes set off the pedi. The design of the dress isn’t our fave, but the whole look pulls together nicely.
IN YOUSEF ALJASMI AT THE VANITY FAIR OSCAR PARTY
This is just spectacular. The dress design is simple, but it looks fantastic on her. Again, the jewelry is really well-chosen to give the look a completed feel. We like that she brought a bag you can actually fit things in. She looks comfortable, confident, and super-glam. It’s a great “I’ve arrived” ensemble.
