Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley and Anjana Vasan, the stars of Wicked Little Letters, came out for the film’s New York Premiere.
They probably didn’t coordinate their looks ahead of time.
Olivia Colman in Taller Marmo
It’s essentially a fringed blanket; big and shapeless. We should hate it, but knowing her preferences for coverage and comfort, it’s not the worst choice for her. We could’ve done without all that fringe, but then she’d just look like she was wrapped in a sheet. We think the scarf could use some zhuzhing and possibly a brooch to keep it in place. The silver shoes strike us as the wrong choice for an off-white.
Jessie Buckley in Erdem
We could talk about how the jacket is too big on her or the shoes are too busy or the patch on the sleeve shouldn’t be there, but we’re far too distracted by the bad hair and lip color to offer more of an assessment. Girl, what is going on up there?
Anjana Vasan in Safiyaa
We’ve seen this dress a thousand times in the last few years, but she looks cute in it. We would not have recommended patterned tights with it, however.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
– A 1920s English seaside town bears witness to a dark and absurd scandal in this riotous mystery comedy. Based on a stranger than fiction true story, WICKED LITTLE LETTERS follows two neighbours: deeply conservative local Edith Swan (Olivia Colman) and rowdy Irish migrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley). When Edith and fellow residents begin to receive wicked letters full of unintentionally hilarious profanities, foul-mouthed Rose is charged with the crime. The anonymous letters prompt a national uproar, and a trial ensues. However, as the town’s women – led by Police Officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan) – begin to investigate the crime themselves, they suspect that something is amiss, and Rose may not be the culprit after all.
