Mike Faist, Zendaya and Josh O’Connor got dressed up to promote their little tennis threesome movie in Sydney.

In a way, we’d say they really did coordinate. We’d also say, given the storyline and Zendaya’s increasing turn toward red carpet cosplay, that there’s a good chance they’re all dabbling in it a little. In the movie, she’s married to Faist’s character and O’Connor is her ex, which is exactly the vibe here. Granted, they’re all dressed pretty much in the way they each normally dress.

We keep calling what she’s been doing cosplay or method dressing, but we’d just bet that her stylist Law Roach sees it more akin to drag or the ball scene, in which highly themed and categorized costumes are de rigueur. From a styling perspective, there’s a lot here that makes sense. She’s so gorgeous that she can make the silliest things look chic and we suspect Law deliberately takes advantage of that, knowing that each of her outfits will go viral. On literally any other person, this would look terrible or too tacky to consider. We’re not going to claim she’s making this look chic. Our point is that she’s the only one who can make it look good at all.

Believe it or not, we approve. He’s suited to this style and we don’t think he’d enjoy attempting to work anything edgier than this. For the setting and the project, this works.

JOSH O’CONNOR

This seems awfully heavy and dark compared to what his co-stars are wearing, but that might have been the point. It’s a pretty great jacket, but the rest of the outfit’s a little dull, which isn’t like him.
