We suspect if you’re a young, stylish or possibly even fashion-obsessed nonbinary or gender nonconforming rising star, you might feel like you have to make a statement about yourself or define your identity in some way when you’re on the red carpet. As we’ve said many a time, we can’t possibly be the people to lead the conversation as to what nonbinary style is or how it should be expressed. But if anyone wanted to get a roundtable of NB and GNC celebrities together to start it, they better put Bella Ramsey on that list. The star of The Last of Us has been hitting the red carpets in a style that owes much to traditional menswear, but always comes with a twist, usually of the whimsical variety. Cases in point:

This is so cute. They’re particularly well-suited to the Thom Browne aesthetic and the brand has been doing right by them again and again. They should make them a brand ambassador. We love the textile, but it’s the shoes that really make it. They have a face straight out of a Leonardo Da Vinci sketch, so we tend to prefer when they wear their hair down.

Again: just so damn cute and stylish. They don’t like too much in the way of embellishment and don’t seem to be interested in jewelry. If there’s such a thing as whimsical minimalism, then Bella Ramsey is its reigning monarch. Our only quibble is that we might’ve liked an ascot or jabot or something other than a turtleneck.
