We’ve been saying for most of the last year that The Fall Guy star Emily Blunt is in an odd style phase. Every once in a while, she pulls something off, but more and more, we get the impression that she’s trying to figure something out; like she’s trying various risks out just to see if they work for her. In that sense, we have to support her efforts, even if the results aren’t always great. Fortunately for all of us, we kinda like the goofy look she sported for Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Honestly, it was the sneakers that really sold it to us. Unfortunately, she switched them out for more TV-ready heels for the interview. We seem to be in a bit of a baggy pants moment for womenswear and we don’t mind it at all. Having said that, we haven’t suddenly reversed ourselves and discovered a newfound love of turtlenecks, mock or otherwise. And that chain embellishment at the collar is pretty dumb. But it all came together surprisingly well on camera:
We could nitpick most of it, but the overall look has an appealing casual modernity to it that suits her well. This isn’t the kind of film where you show up in princess dresses to promote it.
