Golden Globes 2024: SALTBURN Star Rosamund Pike in Dior Couture

“Why is Rosamund Pike wearing an apple on her head?” we asked in our Cosmopolitan writeup last night, only to immediately declare the only answer that matters: “Why not?” The star of Saltburn inadvertently paid tribute to Elspeth Catton, her aristocratic boho character from the film (admitting to an interviewer that she probably wore something like this to her wedding) as well as her own semi-loopy, off-the-beaten-path style. Although perhaps we’re overselling it. After all, it’s not like this frock is wildly unconventional:

It’s really the fishnet tulle and that hilariously weird veil that makes the look seems so odd. She admitted that she originally chose the veil because she busted up her face skiing over the holidays, but opted to keep it even after it was clear she was fully healed from her injuries. We’re glad she did. It was one of the more memorable looks of the night. If she’d just worn the dress, we’d be stifling yawns. Having said that, we’re not crazy about how poorly the fishnet resolves itself in the design, with no attempt to finish any of the edges in any way. A couture Dior shouldn’t look unfinished.
