We could pitch this to you as a fun way to pass the time by looking at some pictures of cute Brit boys at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition, but from where we’re sitting, this post is way more about expressing our shock and outrage. Corey Mylchreest, Luke Evans and Russell Tovey all managed the same trick. They made us love a garment we tend to hate.
Corey Mylchreest
First up: the dreaded sweater vest. Perhaps “love” is too strong a word to use here, since the Queen Charlotte star isn’t exactly making us want to run out and try these nerdjumpers on for size, but we have to admit, he’s making it work for him. Overall, the look is giving “Earring Magic Ken,” but we don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing.
Luke Evans
Next up: the knit polo. Long have we railed against them for being so unforgiving of the average wearer, but we have to admit two things here: first, he looks hot as hell in his, and second, we’ve actually been dipping our toes in the knit polo waters ourselves lately. What can we say? The trend was calling to us and it turns out there are a range of good options out there. Anyway, he is making this entire salute to beige look way better than it would on most other white men. Even so, the suit is clearly too small on him. We appreciate the view but if it’s obvious that you can’t button your jacket, it’s time to go up a size.
Russell Tovey
And finally, our most hated garment. This is entirely too autumnal for June and we still don’t love turtlenecks, but damn if he isn’t looking cute as hell here.
