The big style story (if you care about such things) at the Love Again screening in New York is that longtime slightly awkward red carpet presence Sam Heughan has really pulled himself together nicely while longtime attention0seeking red carpet presence Priyanka Chopra neatly yanked the spotlight entirely off of him, as is her way of doing such things.

We really have to hand it to him, he is the very picture of the impeccable romantic male lead on the red carpet. We wouldn’t call his outfit interesting, but then again, it’s not really meant to be. The female lead is always going to be deferred to at a premiere like this. His job is to look datable, fuckable, and approachably pretty. Her job is dress like the Queen of Romance. This gown is RIDICULOUS. She looks like she’s got an umbrella under her skirt and a kite on her back. The one good thing going for it is that the textile is subtle and elegant. Could you imagine this in a shocking pink or covered in crystals? Despite the outrageous drag of that gown, she does look quite pretty here.
