InStyle magazine threw itself a little party to celebrate both its new Editor in Chief Sally Holmes, but also their upcoming “New & Next” issue. Let’s assess the fashionistas, shall we? We already gave party attendee Quinta Brunson the spotlight treatment, but she wasn’t the only one there delivering a serve on the red carpet.

It’s fashion editor drag. It may not be red carpet-ready, but it’s definitely on point for a fashion editor party.

This is going to sound very forgiving of us, but… it is what it is. Trying to edit this look (like suggesting contrasting pieces, a cropped jacket or a better fitting bandeau) kind of misses the point of it. She’s here to look hot and get her picture taken.

It’s like Goth Drag, which is kind of perfect for her.

Her style team needs to be jettisoned pronto.

The fringe does nothing. Let a cute slip dress be a cute slip dress. You don’t have to dress it up with gewgaws and foofaraw.

Hahahaha. No to all of it, but we almost respect how wackadoo it is. The top has possibilities.

She figured a decent bag and a nice pair of shoes was all she’d need. Can’t say she’s wrong.

This is… kind of ugly? That print isn’t terrible, but the scale is overwhelming, the shape is awkward, and the shiny finish makes it look tacky.

It’s not bad, but it feels like it needs a jacket, which tells us that this is more of a dead-of-winter sort of look.

It’s a cute look but it feels like it’s for a different party.

Can’t argue with any of that, not even the mismatched whites. A serve is a serve.

She looks like she owns a very high-end, exclusive salon. It’s not a bad look in a low-key chic sort of way, but the belt looks a little tacky to our eyes.

Barbiecore is not going away any time soon but that’s still a little too much pink for us. We’d have liked a contrasting shoe and perhaps a little bit less slap. The shape of the dress is weird.
