Beyoncé kicked off her much-anticipated Renaissance tour in Stockholm last night and we can’t decide if it’s an understatement or an overstatement to mention that the looks, they were served. An understatement because, well of course looks were served. She’s Beyoncé and she’s on stage. Who wouldn’t be expecting looks? But it’s also an overstatement because these costumes, provided by some of the most iconic names in fashion, don’t really require words. Only your attention.

She brings a power, playfulness and celebration of her own body to all of these costumes. It’s always been fascinating to us that her red carpet or street style has always been so-so, but when you put her on a stage, she becomes not only a world-class fashionista, but a world-class model, working the shit out everything as if fashion itself were created specifically for her.
