Before they hit the premiere red carpet in a couple of seriously stunning gowns, May December stars Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore joined co-star Charles Melton and hit the beach in a trio of fairly cute looks.
They did not coordinate with each other, it would seem. Having said that, we don’t think they look bad grouped together, although Natalie looks like she got stopped and forced to pose while she was on the way to a much more important event.
JULIANNE MOORE IN LOUIS VUITTON
She will never leave her favorite (non)color scheme. This is almost cute and sort of fun, but it starts looking weird the longer you look at it. We like the blouse a lot, but we don’t think those massive white pants do anything for it. A pair of shorts and cute sandals would have been a better idea.
CHARLES MELTON IN BOSS
Cannes photo calls allow for a pretty wide range of dress and plenty of male stars take the opportunity to keep things on the casual side, but we honestly love this and think it’s pretty stylish. He looks cute/hot and every piece he’s wearing looks expensive. It’s got that Riviera Chic vibe with a slight touch of sleaze to it. It really works. In other news, he’s getting major buzz for his work in this one and we would be delighted to see a Riverdale cast member saunter into the Oscars as a nominee. That’s just the kind of unexpected career turn that makes covering celebrities fun.
NATALIE PORTMAN IN CHRISTIAN DIOR
Even though this is gorgeously stylish and impeccable down to the last detail, it’s also a sort of get-the-job-done take on promotional style. She knows what she looks good in and she snags things that are nearly impossible for her to get wrong and always takes a great picture. It’s rarely trendy or edgy, but it’s pure movie star high style and she’s gotten better at it over time.
