Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘s Jessica Drew, Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy (Issa Rae, Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld) lined up at CinemaCon to preview the upcoming animated film, a sequel to 2019’s Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. We suppose the third film will be called Spider-Man: Totally Over the Spider-Verse. Anyway, let’s get judgy.

It pains us to say that we don’t love this. We think you can make a hot dress out of denim and lace, but we don’t think this is the one. The embellishment at the hem is nice, but the bust looks like she put a bra on over a dress. And that faded, brushed denim is cheap-looking to our eyes.

There’s a lot to like about this. It’s a cool, low-key look that manages a lot of impact for very little effort. But we like the idea of it more than the reality. The colors are too muddy for a red carpet and we don’t like half the prints.

On the one hand, this is a lot for CinemaCon. On the other hand, she’s always been Princess Extra when it comes to her red carpet style. The dress is sharp, but we hate the choker and we don’t think the boots look right with it.
