The stars came out for their respective victory laps at the Time100 Gala and some highly notable looks were served. We’ve singled out a few of the attendees for the spotlight treatment, but it’s time to round up the rest of them for some drive-by judgment.
Ali Wong in Thai Nguyen Atelier

She came out boldly and proudly in a Vietnamese áo dài to pay homage to her heritage, after weathering (or mostly ignoring) a scandal regarding one of her Beef co-stars. We don’t know if it’ll get people to stop talking about it, but she sure made a gorgeous impression on the red carpet. Love the headpiece.
Angela Bassett in Gaurav Gupta Couture

We like that she came out loud and bold. The suit is a LOT, which is why we don’t think she needs such a focus-pulling necklace. A gold chain would’ve been our rec. LOVE the boom box purse.
Ashley Graham

What an interesting way to ruin a perfectly good gown. We might get behind the paint-splatter straps, but those sad pieces of string are terrible.
Doja Cat in Valentino Couture

None of the elements belong with any of the other elements. It feels like this was designed by AI.
Drew Barrymore in Oscar de la Renta
Pin
The blue and white really look great on her, but we don’t love the shape, style, or even the print. It comes off mumsy and aging. We’d have recommended ditching the cape and maybe adding a belt.
Gayle King
Pin
Love the rainbow clutch (of course), but we’d swear we’ve seen this exact dress on her a half-dozen times. We think yellow might be one of her go-to colors. The collapsing bodice looks terrible.
Jennifer Coolidge in Balmain
Pin
We don’t think she needed the sheer gloves and we’re not convinced that hairstyle actually works for her, but the gown is gorgeous.
Jon Batiste
Pin
It’s simple, but it works for him. We might have gone with a lighter shoe.
Kaia Gerber (in Khaite) and Austin Butler
Pin
They’re young, pretty and famous. It almost doesn’t matter what they wear, but we’re happy to see that they chose well.
Ke Huy Quan
Pin
Love seeing him in a tux again. He should wear them all the time.
Michael B. Jordan in Tom Ford
Pin
Beautiful color. Hate the knit tie.
Molly Ringwald in Rodarte
Pin
This is the simplest, most classic and straightforward Rodarte design we think we’ve ever seen. The color looks fantastic on her. We just wish the halter was a little narrower at the neck.
Padma Lakshmi in Marchesa
Pin
Haven’t seen a Marchesa gown in a while. It’s fine. Very pretty and floaty and ethereal in that Marchesa way, but thankfully not overwrought, which is how some of their designs wind up.
Ronan Farrow (in Atelier Cillian) and Mia Farrow
Pin
Cult leaders. They are both too shiny and wearing too much makeup.
Salma Hayek in Gucci
Pin
That fit is impeccable. We don’t even like the dress design all that much but she looks amazing.
Tiffany Haddish
Pin
It’s beautiful, but it begs for a pendant.
