Friday Leftovers for the Week of February 19th, 2022

Darlings, please! Before you go home, take some leftovers with you! We insist!

Adrien Brody in Brioni (Elsa Jin Brooch)

It’s shiny and flashy and he could definitely clean up his grooming a little more. The brooch is kind of ugly, but at least it’s an adventurous choice. Despite our quibbles, this mostly works for him. The color story is interesting.

Austin Butler in Tom Ford

We’d like to see a little more starch in that collapsed shirt, but the suit is gorgeous on him.

Colin Farrell

It’s passably fine. He doesn’t put any more work into it than he has to.

Eddie Redmayne in Alexander McQueen

It’s a sharp suit and an interesting design, but it’s impossible for the shirt not to look wrinkled through the cutouts, which tends to ruin the effect. Looks like the opening to a tissue box.

Helen Mirren

It’s a photo call and this is all very cutely unpretentious.

Kathryn Newton in Chrome Hearts

It’s not to our tastes and we think the color is terribly unphotogenic, but we’ll give her credit for picking something that stands out a little from the usual red carpet fare.

Lana Condor in Moschino

This is kind of insane but very fun in a campy way. We feel like the shoes are a bit of a letdown.

Matt Damon

He looks very excited to be there.

This is super cute.

Naomi Ackie in Gucci

This is loud and fun. We wish it wasn’t so huge on her.

Nina Hoss

It’s very Lydia Tár, which makes it both perfect for the occasion (the Tár screening, in which she co-stars), but that also makes it seem almost costumey.

Paul Mescal

We will refrain from the very mean things we always want to say when he’s around, mainly because he doesn’t deserve our bitchiness. We’ll just say that he’s at his best when he keeps his fashion neat.

Yvette Nicole Brown in ASOS

We’re not entirely sure about that belt, but overall, she looks pretty great.
