It’s long past time we gave celebrities the bluntly harsh advice they need when it comes to the red carpet. Because Miss Anya? As much as we love your haunted doll personal style, this whole look you’ve got here?
This just isn’t it, girl. First, you’re wearing that wrap all wrong and it pretty much ruins the effect of the ensemble. The model on the runway is doing an amazing job with it, which brings us to our blunt advice. If you are, for instance, a very pale blonde girl and you fall in love with an ensemble being exquisitely modeled by a Black woman, the first question you have to ask yourself is how that outfit is going to look on your pale self. Of course that should be the first question for any outfit choice, but it’s especially important when the physicality of the model who made it look so good is notably different from your own. It’s no different than looking at a very tall model and assessing whether your short self can pull it off or looking at a standard-sized model and realizing that your non-model proportions might not work. It’s a cutely interesting, highly dramatic look, but she should have asked for it in black – and worn it the way the designer intended.
