Once again, we’re going to delusionally take credit for a celebrity’s style choices. Just last week, we suggested that Miss Janelle might be in something of a style rut after stepping out in one too many whimsical Thom Browne ensembles with jaunty little hats. Seemingly in response to our incredibly on-point critiques, she ditched the whimsy and the little dog purses and went straight for sexy glam drama:
We approve.
Oh, we have quibbles, of course. That bodice is really nothing more than some carefully placed straps, which isn’t a crime on its own, but it does wind up looking rather flimsy on top of that voluminous skirt. We’re not offended by underboob exposure, but it feels like a really strange element paired with a massive ballgown skirt. We retain our stance that feathers are currently over-used in high fashion, but we have to admit that the deployment here is really impressive.
