Julia Roberts doesn’t do red carpets as much as a lot of her cohort, but when she does, we are always reminded that she is one of the few completely effortless movie stars left. Which isn’t to say that she didn’t have entire teams of people helping to put this look together and get her standing upright on a red carpet looking fine, but she’s one of the few who have that old-school quality that makes it seem like she looks this way all the time. Granted, that comes down at least partially to the fact that her red carpet style sticks to a very straight-and-narrow path.

Your lady loves herself a B&W look with a tuxedo jacket over it. That’s been her go-to for nearly twenty years at this point. This is a cute look and we’re assuming the little messages and dates are all family related. She got married to Danny Moder in 2002 and her son Henry was born in 2007, following her twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, so it looks like the whole fam is being represented here. It’s cute, if a little chalkboard-y, although we asuume that’s the point. More to the point, she looks completely comfortable and confident in it, which are the two qualities she appears to value most in her red carpet style. We’ll never see her working the latest trend or trying to be something she’s not on the red carpet, but when she lands on a look like this one, we know she’s in her sweet spot.
