Anne Hathaway in Valentino at Bulgari’s ‘Eden The Garden of Wonders’ Event

If there’s one thing Annie Hathaway’s gonna do when you hand her a pile of diamonds, it’s serve you a look to go with it. They literally based an entire movie around this fact. The Bulgari spokesmodel stepped out to fulfill her duties at a company event and we thank her for wearing something other than diamonds that’s worth discussing.

You have to admit, it’s not the kind of look you’d expect for a Bulgari party. It’s well chosen to make the yellow diamond of that ridiculous necklace pop all the more and while some might have an issue with the shorts, the ensemble is up to the level of the jewelry (in terms of clearly being high fashion) but doesn’t necessarily fight with it. We think it’s possible to hate the outfit but concede that it’s not doing a thing to detract from the showpiece. Personally, we’d have rather seen her wear the top a little more open to show off the jewels and closed up the bottom to wear it like an oversized shirt. Even so, we really like this for being a different way to model diamonds and make them seem like part of a whole vibe instead of something that overtakes a look. She’s giving “rich girl,” which is, let’s face it, the only demographic to whom this PR exercise is pitched. The only part of the ensemble we truly dislike is the shoe choice. Those are kind of bleh under all that dazzle and sparkle.
