As we noted earlier, this year’s Oscar Nominees Luncheon (the first once since the Before Times), was a more sedate than normal affair – and it’s usually pretty sedate to begin with. Best Actress Nominee Jessica Chastain toned things down from her usual showy style, but still managed to stick to her preferences. How’d she do?

No, really. We’re asking. We want to go grab lunch or something. We’ll say this: she wears black well and her preferences for a little sexy and/or a little fuss are still here, even in this toned-down look. We like the idea or a flared or ruffled sleeve with this design, but we’re not sure if there are too many or just enough to make it interesting. We don’t like the hem length and we’re already getting tired of seeing black platform sandals, which only started trending like ten days ago on the red carpet. Anyway, we’re rambling.
