And just like that, Steffi closed out her 2022 awards season. Oh, she’ll be at the Oscars to present, which will present its own “What Gaga will we get?” sorts of questions (We’re hoping for the “Fuck you, I’m a global superstar, bitches” look, a la Cher), but last night, at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, she stopped by to accept the Best Actress award and chose to mark the occasion in the most understated version of Gaga possible.
It’s the epitome of “prestige actress” style and subsequently can be considered the least interest thing she’s worn all year. Still, we won’t be total bitches about it. She looks pretty and it’s hard to get a dress as simple and basic as this one wrong. We might have rec’d slightly showier jewelry, but it seems to us the understatement is deliberate.
Now please show up on Oscar night in a look they’ll talk about for decades, girl. We’re all waiting.
