Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult at Hulu’s “The Great” Premiere

Time to check in on everyone’s favorite fictional royals – the ones who don’t have a Disney trademark after their names, that is. Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult hit the red carpet for the premiere of season two of The Great looking … a little disappointing, if we’re being honest.

Not terrible, just a little underwhelming. Miss Elle isn’t completely done with the fairy tale elements, as that bodice neatly demonstrates. It’s pretty and the pink is the right shade for her. We’re just not feeling this Miu Miu trend of romantic, lacy pastel tops paired with big black skirts. Kirsten Dunst sported a similar style the other day. This wasn’t isn’t as bad or as jarring, but we’re still not crazy about it. As for him, we absolutely love that he went straight to Hammer Time. We even think the style may actually suit him a bit – or he’s pretty enough to pull it off, at least. But we just hate the satin elements. Instead of looking like an updated take on a ’90s classic, it just looks costumey and cheap.
