Was there anyone who didn’t see this coming? The Ted Lasso juggernaut hit the Emmys and scooped up a bunch of trophies along the way. The star of the show, not normally considered a high-fashion sort of guy, stepped up to the occasion.
Sort of.
Look, we love this for him. The color is great and because of his features, he’s the kind of guy who really looks great in high hair and big lapels. The problem is that a velvet suit is never going to travel well and is tough to wear for any length of time in SoCal September weather. Granted, we think the pants wouldn’t look quite so disheveled if he’d opted for shoes instead of boots, but most of our quibbles don’t matter. Jason Sudeikis showed up to pick up his Emmy looking like America’s middle-aged prom date and given the rapturous response to his show and how beloved a figure he’s become, we think it was the smart, correct way to go.
