Don’t expect Katy Perry, who could’ve easily wound up a semi-pro cosplayer if her life had taken some different turns here and there. to let a little event like Valentine’s Day pass without doing something really obvious and over-the-top in deference to it.

Being really obvious and over-the-top at the same time is basically Katy’s whole deal, when you realize that these are the qualities of a classic cartoon character. She just loves herself some big ol’ candy-colored fashion doll/drag queen/’toon girl realness. This is cute and witty and perfectly on-brand for her.
