There’s a certain style… we don’t want to say “truism,” but well, it’s simply a truth that sounds like an insult but isn’t meant to. Or it’s not meant to when we say it, at least. It’s this: Some people are much better off in the most basic styles you can put on them.
That doesn’t mean that they are a basic or generic person (often quite the opposite), nor does it mean they have no facility with fashion or interest in exploring it. It just means that some folks just look fantastic in the least fussy or notable styles imaginable.

Does this look like a Wednesday Addams dress? Yes. Does Amanda look great in it? Also yes. Sometimes, some people just don’t need or respond well to fuss or extraneous details. Look at how styled the runway look below is in comparison. Miss Thing doesn’t need a thing. Pilgrim Chic. Not every gal can make it work, but she was clearly born to wear it.
