Miss Tessa continues her at-home promo tour for Sylvie’s Love, serving up the kind of luxury looks you’d expect for such a lush, romantic, costume-porn kind of film. She’s always been good at working off-the-beaten-path fashion, but it feels like she’s really ramped up her efforts now that she doesn’t have to get in a limo or face a wall of photographers.
As is often the case with her, she elevates looks that might come off a little goofy or awkward on other wearers. The fringe is – let’s be real here – pretty ridiculous. And if we wanted to be nitpicky bitches (We do! We do!), we’d point out that the pure white of the boots does not go well with the slightly off-white of the suit. Tone on tone needs to be far enough apart to look deliberate. With whites, if you don’t get it right, you can wind up making the off-white look a little dingy. That’s not quite the case here, but they do clash in a minor way. But her ability to work a look combined with some spectacular styling are what make this ensemble so compelling. The hair and makeup are gorgeous and the overall vibe is so off-beat, but it really suits her.
