Vanessa “People Are Going to Die But That’s Like Inevitable and Stuff” Hudgens, benefits from the decade-long year known as 2020 and hits the MTV Movie Award hosting stage in full glamour mode because scandals happen every 90 seconds now and we all don’t have the energy to stay outraged at each one for very long.

Let’s judge her outfits!

You know? Maybe it’s because true red carpetry has been so rare this year, but we think this is kind of cute on her. Yes, it’s INCREDIBLY basic to the point of bordering “generic,” but we can’t honestly say there’s a thing out of place. From the hair to the big-ass medallion on an even bigger-ass chain, all the way down to the platform peep-toes, it all looks good on her. The styling is just interesting enough to make the basicness of the dress not an issue. A little black Versace frock and a lot of gold is never going to go out of style.

Generally speaking, we’re not big fans of midriff cutouts, but we know we can come off awfully prissy about it. Put it this way: stipulating that the cutouts can stay, this dress would need all the pulling to be edited out and it would probably need to be in a different color for us to love it. And you’ve already got the cutouts, the pinkness and the jeweled collar, girl. Those Miss Piggy gloves weren’t needed.

This one’s just a big ol’ nope. The shape is awful and the textiles don’t marry well.
