The interesting thing about celebrity fashion in 2020 is that it has not become more low-key in response to everything that’s been going on. In true Hollywood fashion, a good deal of our style-conscious celebs are going the opposite route: they’re ramping up the glam and the extra-ness, possibly because they feel the public needs the distraction and possibly because they feel they need to be all that much louder just to pierce the fog of the public’s many concerns. That may explain why Miss Taraji went full HAM on the accessorizing here.

We can practically hear all the jingle-jangle just looking at these shots. Is that a big-ass belt? Are those incredibly complicated shoes? Yes and yes. But she’s got a big personality and these pieces are all really well-suited to her. Like we said, it’s a time to be a bit loud and obvious, we think. The new Roaring Twenties are about to start and folks want to dress like there’s a party just waiting to happen. She looks really cute. Love the hair and the hoops.
