At first we were going to be all “Marion Cotillard is doing the bare minimum and in 2020, who can blame her?” But this ensemble is deceptive. It turns out it gets more interesting when you’re wearing less of it.

Mind you, we didn’t say it got better. What a weirdly random collection of items. The jacket’s nice enough, but it makes her top half pretty shapeless, which means it’s not a great choice to pair with a wide-legged pair of pants. The neckline on the top is nice, but the tiered ruching effect is just hellaciously unflattering. The trim at the hem of the pants is distracting and the boots don’t go with any part of the look. They’re not awful on they’re own, but they just don’t work with those weirdass pants. The bag’s cute, though.
