Darlings and Kittens, today is official publication day ’round these parts. And to bless this day as well as soothe your humble authors’ extremely frazzled nerves is none other than Pope Tilda herself, wearing an old fave.

We were slightly more critical when she wore this four years ago, but in the time since, we’ve been conditioned to get used to seeing activewear tropes on the red carpet. Those gym pants don’t look as strange to us anymore. It could also come down to hair color. This makes a great way of demonstrating the effect a hair color change can have on an outfit. Because the ensemble is punctuated by red tones – pink lip, orange stripe, red toe box – her red hair makes it all look much more coherent than her signature Bowie Blond.

Anyway, we thank the Pontiff for her distractions and ask Her to bless our endeavors this day. We are prepared to kiss a ring (and we also ask Her Papalness to note that we said not a word about her questionable lipstick application).
