The theme this year was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” which means she’s either serving you Church Lady hat or she’s serving you Pope on a Platter. Either way, it’s a churchy, sci-fi, glamorous look with not one thing about it out of place or poorly done. From the rings to the headgear and everything in between, it’s a flawlessly unforgettable look.

The following year, she went Full Cray. To be fair, she had good reason. The theme that year was Camp and most of the attendees, for whatever reasons, took that to mean “ALL BETS ARE OFF, BITCHES.” But since Janelle Monae lives in the all-bets-are-off lane, she and Christian Siriano took her too-muchness as far as they could go, leaving the real behind and indulging in the surreal. Taking inspiration from Picasso and Dali, this look is so odd, so head-turning, so unlike any fashion you’ve ever seen, that despite all the weirdness, it may just become one of the most iconic red carpet looks of all time.

Now go pick the best one!

And then fight about it! In a fun, distracting, socially distant sort of way, darlings.
