Miss Saoirse, as we’ve observed many times, loves herself a style swerve. So much so, that after years of awards campaigning, it’s clear that her style preference is essentially “Keep them guessing.” The unexpected, in other words, is expected. Even so, we failed to adequately prepare ourselves for THIS:
And we bet you failed to do so as well. Look, it’s a beautiful textile and there’s at least one small, tired part of ourselves that’s willing to accept all the rufflery and that old-fashioned sort of twee, occasionally juvenile style of uber-femininity that’s currently on trend. But this design is horrible. She looks like she’s carting an entire bedspread around on her back. The shame of it all? Her styling is fabulous.
