Miss Lea got her hardcore yuletide on.
She’s practically a Christmas action figure. Still, she’s out here on these street hawking her Christmas album so a girl’s gotta really jingle that shit up for the cameras. But while we salute and appreciate her commitment to simple and bold promotional style, we have to be the Scrooges here. We have quibbles. The coat is gorgeous. The rest of the items look like they were chosen for one reason only: they’re red. The dress looks too lightweight for cold weather, which isn’t the worst thing in the world, but since this was all chosen to project a certain image, we think the open neckline, bare legs and lightweight textile work against that image. So do the slingbacks, for that matter. And none of the reds quite match, do they?
Is it us or has Christmas been reduced to a strictly red-and-green holiday in recent years? Where are the golds, silvers, purples and midnight blues of mid-winter? Harrumph.
