We’re still high on the fumes from that stunning episode of Watchmen (review here!), which should mean that our continued good feelings should extend past Miss Regina’s amazing performance and include such things as her style choices. And we would normally be very supportive of an effort like this one, which supplies drama and glamour in equal measure.

But something about this dress design felt way off. It doesn’t help that she doesn’t appear to be entirely comfortable with the fit, based on her body language. We get that she wants to show off the rings, but when your hands hang awkwardly or are traveling all over your front like that, it feels like you’re not sure about this one, which of course doesn’t help to sell it.

But once we caught a glimpse of the look book version of the dress, we can see why this one felt so off to us. Removing the sleeves and toning down the collar may make for a sleeker design, but it also leaves the remaining dress a little unbalanced. To be fair, as much as we like the original design for its gothy glam feel, we can see why she’d want a sleeker version. But if you’re going to remove most of the sleeves, we think closing up that keyhole and possibly going up half a size would’ve made for a better look. Don’t get us wrong, she looks pretty great, but the design is too unbalanced now for us to completely love it.
