We realize it’s Halloween and all – and we would never really get in the way of any gal who wanted to get witchy with her fashion – but we can’t really wrap our heads around the idea of dressing to promote your project entitled The Morning Show by hitting the red carpet in funeral wear.

Honestly we might’ve been okay with it all until we got to the shoes. We’re usually defenders of the white or off-white pump, but when you pair them with black patterned tights, we’re afraid that the stop where we get off. Granted, we can understand why she’d want to do something to jazz up this look, because it’s pretty dull and has no real impact in pictures. And it feels like such an off-model choice for her. She does sunny best-friend-at-the-country-club so well we don’t know why she’d want to get away from it.

Dammit. We just went off on her for being dull in her style choices and here she is, trying something just a tiny bit different. Except it’s kind of awful. None of the items – jacket, dress, booties – go with any of the other items. Which is an impressive feat when you consider that everything’s black.
