Us, last night: YES! Michelle Yeoh’s on the red carpet! Let’s give her the spotlight! We don’t get the chance to do that as often as we should!
Us, a minute later, having taken in what she’s serving: Oh. Dammit.
Oof.
Well it’s certainly a bold choice. We’ll give it that. White lace dresses with no linings are not to our tastes in any instance, but we can see from the look book shot that the sleeveless version, worn without that horrifying vest/jacket unholy hybrid, isn’t terrible, but it’s definitely more suited for spring or summer. Adding sleeves and putting that awful thing over it made a slightly questionable dress into a very bad look overall.
On the other hand, the shoes are fabulous – but they look like they’re killing her. And the hair and makeup are great.
