We are delighted to announce that Miss Lucy, ever the fashion game-changer, has introduced us to a new fashion category:
Big Twee.
It’s cute! It’s got little pointy collars and polka dots and gingham and bows and sparkle! But it’s also a whole lot of dress! Which is kind of necessary because how else are you going to contain all of those elements? It’s BIG TWEE!
We think she can handle all the elements we listed and we love a big, flowy, wholelotta dress. But that skirt and that bodice design are WAY overcomplicated – especially with everything else going on in the look. We support the idea of Big Twee as a style, but that doesn’t mean you can throw a million design choices at it and expect one garment to handle them all. Conventionalize the skirt and the bodice, downplay the gingham and leave only the sleeves sheer. Then it all works perfectly.
