There’s nothing that’ll boost an actresses red carpet game like snagging herself an Oscar. Miss Regina was never one to slack off in the style department, but she also mostly kept things workmanlike, sticking to simple shapes and flattering colors, but not venturing far outside a basic understanding of what works for her. Well look who’s all feeling herself now?
That’s as bold and strong a look as anything Cate or Lupita have walked out onto a red carpet. The gown is interesting not just because of the unusual visual, but because it’s one of those dresses that gets more and more impressive when you go in close. From far away: a high-impact visual. Close up: richness and texture with a regal almost ancient-world sort of feel to it. The hair is just the icing on the cake; a fun, bold, eye-catching way to finish off the look unexpectedly.
