To close out our trifecta of actresses dressing like nuns, here’s Sarah Jessica Parker at the Torino Film Festival, managing to find a slightly more interesting take on dressing in black for the red carpet than her contemporaries Pamela Anderson and Angelina Jolie. While those two ladies went the nun route, SJP has more of a stern governess/’80s lady lawyer vibe.
Making for a slightly more interesting, but unfortunately, no less awkward look. The skirt and the jacket are both pretty nice, although the blacks don’t match. The blouse looks like a total afterthought, as does that sad string of pearls. We’re of the opinion that a string of pearls makes a lovely and elegant accompaniment to many an ensemble, but they always look dowdy and serious on a red carpet. We appreciate the attempt to add a little sparkle with the shoes and the bag, but the rest of the outfit is so serious that they just wind up looking silly. Granted those shoes would look silly with just about anything.
