It’s a dress that reeks of grim determination, a dress that says “Let’s just get through this, okay?” Are we being unfair here? It sure doesn’t say “victory lap.” It definitely doesn’t say “I’ll be wearing this as I pose jubilantly with my trophy later.”

We do feel bad she keeps getting nominated for things but never seems to come close to winning them. But we also think every nominee has the chance to win by losing; to sell an image of pure confidence and delight to be at the top of your game. Look at what Gwendoline Christie did with her moment. Make every nomination a celebration. You don’t have to dress pretty or dress sexy or dress demurely. You just have to dress like you’re owning the shit out of this moment, not waiting for it to be over.
