We’re trying to wrap our heads around a Dora the Explorer movie where the lead is an ingenue in a Rodarte gown on the red carpet. It takes some recalibrating.
Similarly, we’re having to adjust our settings to accept Eva Longoria as grownup Dora’s mom.
Isabela Moner in Rodarte
The fashion here is super low-key and traditional, making us wonder if there was a reason to go so simple and classic. We have no real complaints about the choices, although they don’t tend to make for the most dazzling set of pictures. Still, she looks very pretty and we’d say we love the gown completely but that modesty panel is egregious.
Eva Longoria in Vitor Zerbinato
It’s fine. She certainly doesn’t look bad in it. The yellow is bouncing off her skin tone a bit too much, though. She can pull this difficult shade off, but you have to accept the slightly yellow glow she’s giving off. Just about the most interesting part of the look is the footwear choice – and we kind of hate them. Pointy sandals are such a silly trend.
