We were toying with the idea of subjecting this look to an IN or OUT vote but in the end, we thought that may be a little cruel. Not because we think this look is bad. Quite the opposite; we tend to love Thom Browne’s sense of style weirdness and we fully support Miss Tessa’s commitment to wearing odd, unexpected fashion to promote herself. But even we have to admit, this is a lot:
Here’s the thing as we see it: There are three really strong elements here – the hair, the jacket, the shoes – that potentially could all be integrated into a strong look. What they’re missing is some sort of bridge between them all. What we mean is that you need to tie the hair to the jacket and the jacket to the shoes visually. Otherwise, all of these elements seem to hang separately from each other. There’s a slight Blade Runner vibe that she should be tapping into but it’s not coming together as it should. We don’t like to recommend runway styling too often, but we really a think a shirt, tie and patterned tights would have gone a hell of a long way to make this feel complete.
