Kittens, to our surprise (because it wasn’t a great red carpet week) we have a fairly decent selection of leftovers this week. That doesn’t mean the quality’s any higher than normal, nor do we think any of these looks required a spotlight post, but there’s some juicy opinionating to be had, so put your judgin’ pants on and let’s get to it.
Amal (in Stella McCartney) and George Clooney
She’s looking alright, but the shape of the pants is kind of weird. His shirt makes us sad.
Anne Hathaway
It looks like she wore a sportscoat to her river baptism.
Billy Porter
WERQ BITCH
Busy Philipps in Cynthia Rowley
Pick a skirt. You only get to wear one at a time. Also: your shoes don’t go.
Gabrielle Union in New York & Company
We want to love this, because the colors are gorgeous on her, but that fabric doesn’t look expensive and the shape of the dress is weird. She looks like she tucked her skirt into her bust.
Haley Lu Richardson in Jacquemus
Half a look. We don’t mind the no-pants look as much as some, but the proportions have to be just right.
Idris Elba
Ugh. We get that y’all think he’s hot, but this kind of look is exactly why he should never play Bond. It’s fine as a casual outfit, but it’s just plain wrong for a screening.
Julianne Hough in Fannie Schiavoni
Cute shoes with a forgettable frock.
Manila Luzon and Bob the Drag Queen
WERQ BITCHES
But Manila, your wig’s looking janky and Bob, that’s a lot of extra fabric around the hips and crotch. What are you hiding in there, girl?
Mila Kunis in David Koma
It’s really plain, but kind of low-key chic and appealing.
Olivia Munn in Alberta Ferretti
Girl, your dress is a hideous ’80s nightmare and your shoes match your eyeshadow. Go home.
Penélope Cruz in Chanel
We can’t remember the last time we saw such a low-key form of Chanel. This is quietly chic.
Penélope Cruz in Chanel
This, on the other hand, is just okay. We’re not crazy about where and how the bodice and skirt meet.
Tiffany Haddish
She’s the queen of jumpsuits, but we’re not sure about the shoe choice.
Winston Duke
It’s a tiny bit too wrinkled, but we love the colors. He looks great. No sure about the brown suede shoes, though.
