Lady Outlander was all over the style map this week, darlings. Then again, she usually is. Give us a second to put on our helmets and hazard gear, then we’ll wade into it.

Minor complaints here. The overall style of the dress is pretty and well-suited to her. She doesn’t overplay the romance in her red carpet choices, but she knows it’s there any time she wants to deploy it. The matchy pink shoes are just a bit much, but we don’t mind them. The unresolved back part of the dress is kind of awful, though. And we’re really not feeling that hairstyle; not for her and not for this look.

Newp. Sorry, lady. We have no issue with unusual shapes in fashion. In fact, we’d say we’re inclined to love them more often than not. We’re not opposed to the idea of an accentuated hip or the use of panniers in modern fashion, but the pleating, the heaviness of the velvet and the way the bust sits so low, with that somewhat distracting flower at the center – it all combines to make for some very weird proportions. And again, that hair is simply not working. We’d go so far as to say it’s kind of awful.
