Steffi’s new drag name is now Lady Periwinkle Eleganza.
Girlfriend is coming out of the gate strong. She didn’t win the actress prize last night (although that’s a somewhat questionable metric for predicting the Oscars), but she sure showed up dressed like she was there to pick up a trophy or two. We’d rate this pretty high on Gaga’s list of personal style bests, but in a funny sort of way it feels like a low-key choice, given her predilection for serious wackery and drag on the red carpet. On the other hand, we had to laugh at the hair color. There she is in Valentino couture and custom Tiffany diamonds with spray-on hair color from the CVS Halloween aisle completing the look. That’s just so Gaga.
Bitchiness aside, she really does look stunning. That necklace is a jaw-dropper. The color is gorgeous on her. Several reported it as lavender but we insist on calling it periwinkle because a) it’s correct; b) it is an oft-neglected and overlooked color; and c) it’s such a fun word. Also, because the House of Valentino evidently agrees.
Can’t wait to see what she’s got planned for the Oscars.
