Most of the stars start fading away the closer we get to Christmas, but Miss Emily doesn’t just have a holiday family movie to promote, she has THE holiday family movie to promote. That means two things: a neverending poledance and a succession of Christmas party ensembles.
Emily Blunt at “Good Morning America” in Lela Rose
We’ve been around this game long enough to know just how cyclical it is, so we say with some confidence that we’re only a year or two away from the sandal backlash. Expect a million “What were we thinking” fashion thinkpieces about the insistence of wearing sandals in cold weather, with cold-weather clothing. The dress is great. The sandals are great. They look silly paired up on a person walking down a New York street in December.
But it bears repeating here: The dress really is great and she looks pretty damn bangin’ in it. The color and texture do a lot here, but the buttons on the sleeves really make it.
Emily Blunt at “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in Michael Kors Collection
We would have sworn she stole this entire look from the runway styling, but it turns out this is curated, to our surprise. We give her credit for assenting to wear the argyle and tartan at the same time. It’s a pretty bold idea – and it almost works. The colors look amazing and every piece looks super high-quality. We love the look, but we have to be honest and say that we don’t think the pattern mixing works perfectly. That coat is drool-worthy.
