Michelle Obama and Tracee Ellis Ross Sing a Duet of Fierceness

Posted on November 19, 2018

Happy Monday morning, kittens! Yes, that is a cruel turn of phrase, we know. Allow us to make it up to you. Or rather, allow besties Tracee and Shelley to make it up to you because these ladies are looking incredibly fabulous and we figure that would be exactly the thing you need to get you started.

Damn, Tracee. Are you trying to upstage FLO here? That is one stunner of a dress. In a way, we don’t blame her for breaking out the big guns. A gal could get lost in the shadows sharing a stage with Michelle Obama. Just look at how well Michelle’s holding her own in a relatively plain white suit while standing next to a dress that insists on singing an aria at top volume. Someone get RuPaul on the line because we’ve got a veritable cornucopia of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent up on this stage. YAS, QUEEEENS.

But don’t take our word for it. Miss Tracee? The floor is yours:

STILL PROCESSING ~ what an incredible honor it was to sit in conversation with @michelleobama and discuss ‘Becoming’, a book about her extraordinary life. i worked so hard on all my questions, but the moment became a warm conversation filled pearls of wisdom and a lot of laughs. she was nothing short of amazing!  becoming is revealing, rich with wisdom and humanity, sobering, filled with dignity and grace, unapologetic, honest and uplifting. it pushed me into my own memories, made me think and moved me to tears. she pulls things apart in a granular way, naming the ingredients and ultimately sharing the recipe; a testament to what is possible. it’s an extension of what she did and who she was as First Lady, a furthering of. and now we get to carry her with us, in our hands and in our hearts. i look forward to reading it over and over and over again. #iambecoming
