Note the phrasing. We didn’t say we loved it. But we do appreciate it for being dramatic and attention-seeking and high-fashion-y at the right time and place for it. Put it this way: no one else looked like this at this event. That’s a win right there.

Having said that, it is a little drag-queeny (although that’s not the worst thing in the world in this setting), not to mention the strip of belly skin is crazy-awkward and not particularly flattering. Also, that top looks like a silhouette of Darth Vader’s head. And the flower sprouting out of the side of her head is weird and distracting. No, this isn’t a chic look by any means. But it’s a unique one, and that’s half the game for the CFDAs.
