The theme was “New York Nation” and there’s no brand better than DKNY to express that. There’s no major designer who so consistently expresses her love of NYC as much and as well as Donna Karan. Having turned her attention to street style in recent seasons, she’s shown a surprising facility with it, and continues that exploration with this collection. The looks are boldly graphic and brightly colored, calling to mind graffiti without being literal about it. Geometrics, stripes, layering and textures define the looks. The silhouettes are strong, but the pieces are slouchy and comfortable; stylish and chic, but wearable and even practical. As always with DKNY, these are clothes for women with somewhere to go and something to do. How New York.
